We have had some good turn of events in our family as Tom has started working again for the LDS Church as a Producer! Two weeks ago Tom actually had accepted a job that was doing the RCI Timeshare account which meant that he would be traveling around the world...gone two weeks and home two weeks. We decided that he needed to just take that job because 1.we needed a job 2. He could see the world and 3. it payed well... but on the other hand we were really not looking forward to the time gone away especially with a new baby coming, and it was a contract job that didn't have the benefits we needed. But he accepted on a tuesday and was to start the following monday. Well, Tom got a call wednesday afternoon from the Directer of the Film Deptartment at the Church, saying that they had a job opening that they would like Tom to interview for on Thursday morning. The Interviews went really well and they were very impressed with Tom! Tom did have to say that he needed to know that day if they wanted him or not because he was set to leave the country with this other job starting in a couple days. That afternoon the Church called back and offered him the job!
Tom and I were in shock! We just couldn't believe the timing of everything and how it all worked out so well. Tom's only hesitation with going back to a Church job was the frustration of dealing with all the policy and procedure to get things done, (oh, and wearing a white shirt and tie everyday:))...but other than that we have been extremely grateful and feel very blessed to have him back in a stable job with great benefits, working on good projects and working in Salt Lake.
He is going to be working on a bunch of projects...one being to produce (write, budget, organize, research etc.), shoot and edit the "Mormon Messages" videos that the Church has been doing. He feels the pressure of his new job as it carries a lot of responsibility as he will wear many "hats" on all of his projects...but he will do so well. I'm so glad that when he left his Church job a few years ago that he left in good standing with everyone. I am so proud of him. Thanks everyone for your prayers and concern for our family! We truly feel like we were watched over!
